Annoying little beep with new emails

I have outlook 2007 on my laptop and have had this annoying little beep every new email I receive. I found a setting in outlook under notifications that said something about beeps but that didn’t work. I even muted my speakers and that didn’t work. I finally found a SOLUTION in Google somewhere.

No need to to disconnect the speaker, simply set this values in the registry. Defaults are set to yes and there is no way to turn this into a no from the gui. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound] “Beep”=”no” “ExtendedSounds”=”no”

AND IT WORKS! So now no jumping every time I get an email while concentrating on something else. FYI Thank You!!!

MicroHoo or is it YaSoft?

What I (and many others) hope will be the biggest story of the year, the Microsoft takeover bid of Yahoo thus far is a big snoozefest. I really wished they would just kiss and make up and get on with acquisition details.  I’m not a big user of Live, MSN, or Yahoo so I guess that is what excites me the most about the deal personally is to see what comes out of it an see if they can persuade me to leave Google Gmail and several other Google services I currently use every day.

Word on the digital street is Yahoo is looking for a deal (Microsoft or otherwise) but believes the current deal on the table undervalues their company but I’m unsure if it’s th eYahoo of today or tomorrow. Yahoo has given a projection of a major financial increases by 2010 mostly from a new online AD platform that isn’t even out currently and other promised technologies. It sounds to me like Yahoo is just buying time and playing games and stockholders need to step up to the plate if they expect to get their piece and lets get this thing rolling. If nobody else is stepping up to buy, it’s sounds like Microsoft has found  the target or better market value to me.

Am I missing something here? What do you think about the deal?

wierd dream

I had a really wierd dream this weekend. I can’t remember a lot of it but one piece I picked out of it and pondered as I was lying in bed waking up Saturday morning was I was teaching some sort of strange class and an assignment was for the class to bake a cake that has a self-help or useful message. I was of a technology I’m assuming we’ve never heard of anyways but basically it involved sorts of computer chips or nano bots for lack of a better term that are perfectly harmless and would pass through our system but while in our system would send messages “directly” to our system via contact through the nerves in our body. I’m pretty sure that is still science fiction but you heard it here first if anyone is in fact thinking along the same lines as this. However what a useful tool if in fact it could be make and was actually harmless to our body. We could send not hungry signals to ourself for weight loss. We could send entire textbooks down our throat ((literally!)) for classes. Is something like this really possible? I promise I didn’t see it on a movie. A true direct input into the brain. WOW! What do you think??

New Service Research

Hello everyone! Today I’m trying to find a market to fill with a hobby I love doing. I love searching each day through the expired domain names as they come through. However there are so many good names I find each day that I can’t possibly register them  all so I want to share hte list with you. I could make it a free list but it is a lot of time spent and I do have expenses with the various services I register with to get the domain names each day. My idea is to charge say $5  or $10 a month and directly email a list of short niche domain names to you. I can take requests for keywords and filter and mail you available domain names based on your request. Please let me know if your interested at all. And please let me know what features around this idea would make you even more interested.

Again this would be a list of newly available  NICHE domain names which are available (at time of the email) to register for the $6, $8, $10 price depending on the TLD (.com, .net, .org, etc…) and the registrar you choose to register with.

ALSO I’d like to ask that you register them with my domain registrar at Froggy Domains - www.froggydomains.com but of course your not required too.

Sincerely, Jonathan

Who is The Goodpasture Group?

The Goodpasture Group is a multi-facet partnership structured business with communication hubs for all our many businesses both on and off the internet. We are Jonathan and Katie Goodpasture and have been on the web for more than 10 years now.

I have worked with many business ventures on the web including (but not limited to) selling on eBay, learning the in’s and out’s of the domain name business including registerdropped.com, froggydomains.com and several more. I am currently working on learning custom programming using ROR (The greatest framework and language out there folks!). I am wanting to program for a living full time as my goal. I hope to continue in the direction of learning more about the domain aftermarket arena as well. Well that’s me in a nutshell.

My wife, Katie, works full time however as a transcriptionist, editor, and awesome mother. She operates under this umbrella as well.

Our current flagship product is a website called Froggy Domains at http://www.froggydomains.com which offers cheap domain name registration and expired domain information and so much more. Froggy Domains is now branching out with free offerings of other domain related websites including domainforum.ws and domainlinks.ws for starters. There is many plans for these branch to come. Please check out the specific topics on these individual companies for more information.

Another big venture is a series of free wild and domestic animal vertical portals called SomethingAbout… including http://www.somethingaboutcats.com, http://www.somethingaboutdogs.com, http://www.somethingaboutfish.com, http://www.something aboutreptiles.com, and many more. I have created a central website for these portals at http://www.myanimalforums.com if you want to check them out today!

thanks for visiting. I’ll add more later. Jonathan

Welcome and Hello friend:

My name is Jonathan Goodpasture and I am the owner and CEO of The Goodpasture Group. My beautiful wife and I run many businesses on the internet in hopes of some day being able to retire from my day job before I turn 65 (retire early) by making a comfortable living through these businesses and enjoy life with my family instead of my co-workers I currently spend all day with. I have tried and failed many things but even from as early as learning to ride a bike, we have all learned that if you fail, you get back up and dust off your jeans and live to ride again.
That is what is the heart and soul of The Goodpasture Group. I will succeed so it’s just a matter of how many years from now until age 65 it will be for me. I am currently 35 so I’m still counting.

Feel free to take a walk around this site and I will have (hopefully) current information about our current ventures and a link to go check them out. I will also post other information i find interesting around the web. I am extremely interested in the expired domain industry so don’t be surprised to find articles related to that and even a few available gems from time to time. You never know what will be posted here so check back often or add me to your reader if you like. Thanks for visiting!
